    Minutes:

The Mayor advised Council that the proposer and seconder of the Notice of the Motion have withdrawn the motion and invited Councillor David Jones to address Council.

Councillor David Jones addressed Council in respect of the withdrawal of the Motion.

My seconder and I are not withdrawing the motion because we regret in any way tabling it or because we resile from its sentiments or because of any alleged error of fact or any disingenuous statement in the motion or the accompanying memorandum. Quite simply, we have been advised, and we have accepted that advice in good faith, that the Council already has the powers to take the action set out in Part C. Also the point that tonight’s agenda is rather long.

While we reserve the right to reintroduce the motion if necessary at a later date there are more pressing and more significant items of business to be discussed this evening.
